W is for Waddle

W is for Win! W is for Waddle! The Dolphins went to Foxboro and got the W over the Pats. The Dolphins are ALONE in first place in the AFC East after week 1 and the Two Old Dolfans can’t wait to talk about it. Eyeball observations from the game (as usual) with more PFF stats to support or refute them. These two are super excited about Waddle but do they say he’s our best rookie?  Some controversy on game management. Some fun chatter about the new Power rankings. A look at next week’s matchup with the Bills.

Kickoff 2021

After a few weeks pandemic related delay, Scott and Alex are back in the studio to discuss everything Dolphins. What happened? Thoughts on the last preseason games. The 53 man roster. The practice squad. Events “of the day.” This is their traditional game by game season predictions episode. Additionally, some further predictions on Miami Dolphins records that will be broken this year. Who? How? Finally, a short, light preview of game 1 vs. the Patriots.

Alex at Camp

How has a month gone by? Well, Alex was gone for most of it and in Miami to boot. He attended camp while there and had MANY observations, SOME of which are discussed in this episode. Tua? OLine? RBs? Defense? Early guesses at how the WR room will look when the Dolphins cut down to 53 (with a surprise in there). There’s also a few observations about the pre-season game against the Bears. Listen in to this episode for a “real” look at Dolphins camp, some sarcasm and humor, and more.

Ninety Percent Armando

The Dolphins are on Vacation but Alex and Scott got the urge to do a quick, fun podcast. We dedicate this one to Armando Salguero, for reasons you will see when you listen. The primary topic of discussion is around the Xavian contract situation, but comments are peppered all over the Dolphins, the NFL, and more.  Maybe you haven’t heard some of these perspectives – for which some stats are shared. Largely, this was a tongue-in-cheek episode, where we have some harmless fun poking at the veteran Herald staff writer (also an old Dolfan). Lot’s of mentions…

Jando Draft Medicine

… How do we look at how the Dolphins front office did? We look at each pick, as well as the non-picks in this episode and reflect on trade results. From Jaylen & Jaelan to Gerrid, everybody get’s some. There is a lot to love in this class, some head scratchers, and some grumpy old man frustration with the front office …

Inglourious Endings

All season long, the old guys have looked into the light of the Dolphins future, and shown the light on things that need to be fixed. The culmination of all they’ve discussed, and the look at the philosophical and somewhat UNEMOTIONAL approach the Dolphins need to take to keep things going in the right direction. Is Tua the future? How does he compare to Dan Marino and/or Bob Griese? What about the coaching staff? Gailey at OC? What should the front office prioritize with our draft picks? Where do we look in Free agency? These two guys have an educated opinion on all that.

Rookie Beats Coach

The Two Old Dolfans are at it again and they can’t stop talking about this crazy NFL season. The national talking heads who were predicting en-mass that the “coach” would beat the “rookie quarterback” get some verbal punches thrown their way. This episode pokes more fun at Gase, as always. Could the Dolphins actually end up with the number 3 pick? Scott references a CBS sports article on the Dolphins draft that says so. They talk Patriots game, and look foreward to Las Vegas and the Chuckies…

Longest. Podcast. Ever.

Alex and Scott have a LOT to talk about in this episode. Even with prodigious editing, this one ends up at almost 90 minutes and it’s one of the better episodes, all on the heels of a loss to the Chiefs at Pro Player – Landshark – SunLife – Joe Robbie stadium. Alex and Scott are on their game with references back to Griese, Solomon, Marino, Favre, Shula, Briscoe and more. They spend most of the time really digging into this game, sharing observations, most of which have a point! What might Bowden become? Why does Gaily need to make scripting changes? What do these two really think of Tua?…

Go! Fight! Win!

With a victory over the hapless Bengals, our Dolphins are 8-4 on the season and are damned fun to watch, sometimes. The first half was nearly looking like another Denver, only worse in some ways (but not in others). Alex called it a trap game. But Alex and Scott imagine a rousing halftime speech, and a couple of “fights” break out – which really gets the team riles up. It’s all Phins after that, and fun to talk about. What are the things that stand out, things that will portend the future? Where does Gaily need to work on his game plan, given the cards he has to play?…
