Let’s Catch Up

Finally, after game 1 of the 2022 NFL Season, they made it happen. Listen in as they jaw about the Patriots game, where to think about both our offense and defense reside in terms of quality, who stood out, who showed promise and what are we concerned about… They do an accelerated version of the “picks” episode within, and look forward to the next game in Baltimore.

Tampering and Magic?

he big news coming from the NFL has cast a shadow over a camp filled with a kind of magical potential. The Old Dolfans wanted to dig in to this issue, because, of course they have the opinion of the wise 😉 . Also, some  observations of things coming out of camp, and, originally they weighed in with some strong opinions about the NFL and the Watson situation. Well, all three happened, but breaking news…

In this episode, they talk about the construction of the team from the coaching staff to free agents that have been signed, and even what they still might do before camp. How do these two old guru analysts feel about Tua? The O-Line? The RB and WR rooms? How will the Dolphins fare in a new culture and scheme?

State of the Dolphins 2022 part1: AfterDraft

Scott and Alex end their “winter” hiatus to create a two part State of the Dolphins 2022 podcast(s). In this episode, they go right into the draft and their read on how it will affect the team. Because Tyreek Hill is essentially picks 1,2 and 4 – they discuss that trade. All four picks the Dolphins made are addressed with some analysis. UDFA is a topic. Next year’s (2023) draft and our desired philosophy gets some love.

This Changes Everything

There’s no sitting on the sidelines this year with the bombshell Brian Flores dropped. Alex hurries back to San Diego from Los Angeles to discuss this with Scott in the first episode of Season 5. Our take is not the same as everyone else, and we wont walk you through all the pain of the franchise under Ross / for the last 25 years like everyone else seems to. Instead, we’ll address the issues and propose some solutions. This is an important one to listen in on.

The End

…They talk about the most recent, and last, game of the 2021season, a relatively meaningless (but mostly fun) win against the Patriots. The large part of the discussion is the firing of Coach Flores, the retention of Chris Grier, the antics and decision making of Stephen Ross, and most importantly of all, who should be our next coach. It is critically essential that you tune in for these picks. The future of the human race depends on getting it right. Also, can you guess who the AC of the YEAR winner is? This concludes Season 4 of the Two Old Dolfans Podcast.

Titanic Stomp

…What key plays, moreover, performances, led to the butt whooping our team got? What does history teach us about this Dolphins team, its coaching staff, and the front office? Mistakes in leadership and management are examined and re-examined, not necessarily the hindsight of this lost season, but more of “Why were these things obvious to a couple of old Dolfans, but not to the people getting paid millions to make the decisions?”…

Burning Book

Alex and Scott connect virtually while half a world apart review the Saints game and discuss the upcoming match against the Tannehills (Titans). Giant Rookie Records

The Two Old Dolfans are joined by a special guest this week: Andy Korge, “retired” South Florida radio man to celebrate on a victory Monday. The trio were having so much fun talking Fins and laughing that they lost track of time, so even with edits, you get a bonus twenty minutes over the usual hour. Alex is over the moon with the Hurricanes hirings, so he spends a moment on that. Andy was the “man on location” having been at the game, and gives us the perspective of the tailgate and the game from his seat. What did we see in this game that pleased or troubled the old guys? A little bit of depth around the Waddle and Phillips and the company they now keep in our Dolphins history….
