Baltimore Bombs

Oh the pain. We knew it would be bad, we warned everyone, but it was worse than we thought. Scott and Alex reunite to discuss the Ravens game, what caused the fiasco, and the fallout. Beyond statistics, and positive moments to highlight, we discuss the front office, the coaching staff, and the players who “want out.” Harbaugh is a punk. The AB saga continues (with breaking news on him). The Patriots are coming to town… thoughts?

Solo Dolfan Rock

Alex is half way across the world, the Dolphins have really nuked the roster – loading up for the rebuild, and Antonio Brown has Mossed the Raiders, to our disadvantage. Scott takes his profession into the football world, talking about a risk / performance analysis on Chris Grier, and delves into a failed Quality Assurance process on the best interview we did, that you’ll never get to hear.

Adelitas, Cambodia, and Tequila

Suffering from some technical difficulties, the two old dudes manage to push out a short episode following the Tampa Bay pre season game. Scott had a birthday, and throws in a quick story about Adelitas Way. Alex is looking forward to a big trip coming up. The conversation is all about what they both saw from our young Dolphins in the pre-season tilt with the Bucs. Sam “Tequila” wins our MVP. Listen in.

Covering The Gap

Opening with a quick chat about a significant lifestyle change, they get into a loose talk about things that have transpired between the last episode and now with our Dolphins. A bit on the draft. Thoughts on Rosen. Laughing at the Jets. Concern over some glaring weakness. What Vegas thinks. Reshad Jones.

Dolphins Go Strategic Restructuring

Alex and Scott continue to worry a little about Grier as they discuss the GM position. Scott has done a some light homework on Grier, Flores, Caldwell, O’Shea, Graham, and Crossman – the team of men hat will lead us into the 2019 season and beyond. The TOD’s discuss what they’ve been up to, the departure of old Dolphins, and what approach they’d take to the 13th pick in the draft. It’s going to be a long year, so let’s enjoy it while we’re undefeated. Fitzmagic!

New Year Brings Grier

New Year Brings Grier

Scott and Alex get together on New Years Day to close out Season 1 of the Two Old Dolfans Podcast. They discuss Chris Grier and wonder about where his fingerprints are, and aren’t in all of his years of employment with the Dolphins. Is he really the right choice to remake our team? Both delve into Gase, who they both wanted out. Hear why. How did reality line up with our pre-season predictions? What do they know about the list of coaches the Dolphins have scheduled interviews with. Who do they want, either from that list, or not? They touch on the Bills game, though don’t spend as much time on the game as usual.

Nothing Good Without Change

Nothing Good Without Change

Scott and Alex record the latest episode on the morning of Christmas Eve. They warm up with a brief chat about food, Adelitas Way, and a correction to a story from last week. Alex brags on his championships. They discuss the putrid performance against Jacksonville, highlighting the first drive, which was the one positive note. Gase on the Bench? Marino, Ross, and Tannenbaum in the suite? Social Media fun.  What will it take to beat the Bills in Buffalo? A template has already been provided – will the Dolphins follow it? Football philosophy 101. Hints at the future. Merry Christmas.

In our newest podcast, Scott runs an ad… for Two Old Dolfans. Initially skirting the topic of the “Vikings Debacle” Scott tells a twitter story about an actor, our podcast, and a show he enjoys on Amazon Prime. Alex counters with a plug for a Netflix Original. They get into the Vikings game, but don’t go as quite as deep or as long as usual… it’s just too painful. They agree its time for the rest of us Dolfans to see Ballage “get in the endonze on every play” in real games, instead of the practices we can’t see. Salute to Frank Gore, congrats to Xavian Howard. Both touch on the metadata Scott talked about last week, getting into season statistics. Dan Fouts gets a direct quote. Jaguars game predictions are made. Scott gets ready for rocking out with Adelitas Way, while Alex prepares for a Cuban Christmas meal.

Miracle at 347 Don Shula Drive

Drake Scores! Drake Scores! Unbelievable! The Dolphins have now beaten their arch nemesis of the last twenty years 5 out of 6 times in Miami. Alex and Scott blew all kinds of old man gaskets during, at the end, and after this game. It is with gusto they relive the magic, dig into the back and forth nature of the Patriots game, touch upon statistic metadata, and save a few minutes to preview the upcoming Vikings matchup.
