A Weird Preseason is Over

Things are weird. A preseason with no games. Very little access to information about our team, or any team for that matter. The old man eyeballs are starving for football. Now that the season is about to start, Alex and Scott take a stab at the roster, team captains, moves and cuts, predicting the season, and the appearance of Tua on the field. Listen in for half-blind wisdom and prognostication.

A Tale of Two Teams Schedules

Scott and Alex and Jondo synced up to have a conversation about our favorite team following the release of the 2020 NFL schedule and it’s here as a podcast. They talk about the word out of Vegas, matchups, some interesting scenarios, and even next year’s draft.  There’s a brief perspective on a couple of UDFA’s that were signed. Finally, Alex declares his love for “the greatest GM in the NFL,” and you’ll never guess who it is. They all agree we have a second favorite team to keep an eye on this coming season and look at their predicted numbers.

Ode To Coach Shula

Ode To Coach Shula

May 4th, 2020. Don Shula has passed away. The Two Old Dolfans have been talking on and off all day – and finally get some time to record and share our thoughts and memories of Coach Shula. Listen in to our conversation – just a few of the hundreds of memories we have of the greatest coach in Miami Dolphins.. no, NFL history.

Tua and Ten More

Tua! Scott and Alex have been busy too. We threw a virtual draft party, started a YouTube page (TwoOldDolfans), were virtual for most picks and have a lot to talk about in this podcast. Remember, our mission statement clearly says that we don’t drink cool aid – so tune in for an explanation of how we approach the draft, and honest evaluation of every pick.

Coaches, FAs and pre-draft

Season 3 begins! Since they last did a podcast, there have been a lot of coaching changes under Flores. Free agency kicked off, and the Dolphins flung their doors open to many new players – each is discussed. Finally, the draft is less than two weeks away and they review the picks, draft philosophy, trade thoughts, and opinions on who they want the Dolphins to draft.

Two NYs and a Disagreement

It’s a fine December evening in Southern California, and the Two Old Dolfans are in the studio – tired, but with their dander up. It sucks losing to Gase in a lousy field goal festival. There were more kicks on goal than in a soccer match. Not that these guys watch soccer, ever. Well, unless one of their kids played it. Some other observations from the game… There’s still 3 games to play, how will it shake out?

What If We Sweep

What If We Sweep

Alex and Scott are delayed a day by sickness, but undaunted in this energized conversation about our ‘Phins. Parker and Gesicki put on a clinic. The Eagles don’t know what hit them (much like their mascot circa 1994). The two old critics continue their string of Gase bashing, with lots of new ammo, and a Jets game on the near horizon. A few things got under Scotts skin. Alex never quits, despite his voice trying to. Rick said it best a week ago, it’s not “old,” it’s wisdom. Get some, and join our conversation.

A Conversation with Rick DeJesus

A Conversation with Rick DeJesus

Scott and Alex get the opportunity to have a conversation with Rick DeJesus, the frontman of Adelitas Way. The conversation flows from NFL teams to fantasy football, to baseball legends, to music and the creation process. What teams do Rick,Trevor Stafford, Andrew Cushing, and Tavis Stanley follow? Which team did Rick jump ship on (from Philly to…). Hear the story of how the band was named. Another story about hanging with an NHL player after a show. Who does Rick’s dad look like? How does Rick maintain high energy and good health? Hear portions of their music, old and brand new, woven into the podcast. This episode is for sports and music fans alike.
